This Level-3 (L3) Environmental Data Record (EDR) contains Smoothed Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) detected with the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) onboard the Suomi-NPP and NOAA-20 satellites. The algorithm requires smoothed Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and Brightness Temperatures (TB), which are obtained from a 15-week time series, from which the 7th week is used in the final product. The data are produced by the NOAA Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) and is distributed by the Comprehensive Large Array-Data Stewardship System (CLASS) in the NetCDF-4 file format with metadata attributes included.
