Static Inputs for the Integrated Surface Dataset
ISD Inputs
Static Inputs for the Integrated Surface Dataset are data that were gathered from other datasets and re-formatted into the ISD format. Data are from Australia, Brazil, the Washington National Observatory, Greenland, Mexico, METAR Monthly Airways Extract (MAE), and the NSRDB. In addition, there is a "snapshot" of non-quality-controlled data from 2013 (NOAA Surface Weather Observation data received prior to manual updates and quality control). As of 2016, not all collections have been incorporated into the ISD dataset. However, as time and resources permit, these collections are intended for inclusion.

- NSRDB data are restricted for public use. Users are encouraged to acquire data through NREL access points or through ISD (NSRDB data not yet incorporated into ISD).

Most of the collections in the Static Inputs for the Integrated Surface Dataset Collection were reformatted from their original sources by NCDC personnel in the early 2000s. Some data were keyed (or received by) the archive already in the ISD format. |

- 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
