NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information
NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.

Collection consists of daily solar indices provided by various solar observatories. The collection is as complete as possible with all available data online.
Original film and paper records were processed by professional staff at their respective institutions.
Observatory staff acquire data to identify solar features of interest.
Consistent data presentation formats are used for each separate dataset.
Single daily indices.
Solar indices were obtained and/or prepared by trained staff at the various institutions.
Supporting metatdata included within the index sets as available.
Daily indices
Authoritative data provided by various institutions.
Some original datasets were prepared through the NOAA Climate Data Modernization Program (CDMP).
