abstract: CTD, bottle, and other data were collected from the CHARLES DARWIN and other vessels in the Atlantic Ocean from 10 April 1969 to 17 August 1995. CTD data include temperature and salinity profiles. Bottle data include profiles of percent oxygen saturation, sigma-t, computed potential attenuance, and chlorophyll concentration. Data were submitted by the British Oceanographic Data Center (BODC).

She was a NERC research vessel, which meant that cruises could be run on her by any NERC laboratory or UK university department. So the labels on the ROSCOPs indicate who organised the cruise, not who operated the ship. She was always operated by NERC Research Vessel Services based in Barry. She was then transferred to the organisation then known as Department of Agriculture for Northern Ireland (DANI) and renamed Lough Foyle, so they are the both the same ship.
