Supplemental Information
The CTD data were collected as part of a large volume water-sampling process for dissolved Radium isotopes in the vicinity of a midshelf front in the middle Atlantic Bight. At each of 5 stations, 200L water samples were obtained at 2 or 3 depths using Niskin bottles on the CTD rosette. The water samples were aggregates from bottles tripped on multiple casts at the same approximate location. The CTD data were used to provide water column hydrography at the Radium sampling locations.

The ScanFish data were collected as part of a project to investigate the hydrography and velocity structure of the mid-shelf front in the New York Bight (Collaborative Research: Observations of the Structure and Dynamics of Mid- Shelf Fronts, PI: D. Ullman). The ScanFish (a towed undulating vehicle carrying a CTD package) was towed behind the ship to obtain multiple crossings of the front. The CTD (T/S) data and the shipboard velocity data were used to estimate the mean cross-shelf structure of the front (Decker, L. B., 2009. Mean thermohaline and velocity structure of the Mid-Atlantic Bight mid-shelf front, M.S. Thesis, Graduate School of Oceanography, University of Rhode Island.).
Purpose This dataset is available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis.
