Hydrostatic pressure collected from Moorings in Elson Lagoon near Barrow, Alaska from 2014-08-20 to 2015-09-22 (NCEI Accession 0163224)

Year long records of hydrostatic pressure recorded at Sites 1, 2, and 3 in Elson Lagoon near Barrow, Alaska 2014-08-20 to 2015-09-22 were acquired to better understand relationships among sea level, circulation, and ice movement in coastal areas. The sensors were 8 inches above the lagoon bottom. Water temperature was also recorded. There is an ASCII text data file for each site. A separate data file defines the site coordinates and the specific times the instruments were at the lagoon bottom. Note the data include time pre- and post-deployment while out of the water.

Purpose This study was developed in response to questions raised during workshops sponsored by the North Slope Borough-Shell Baseline Studies program (Johnson et al., 2014). Specifically, participants identified information needs relating to relationships among sea level, circulation, and ice movement in coastal areas.
