Processing Steps |
- Parameter or Variable: ACOUSTIC TRAVEL TIME (measured); Units: second; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: inverted echo sounder (IES); Sampling and Analyzing Method: 24 pings obtained each hour were windowed to remove large outliers; additional data spikes removed; hourly values obtained as the average of a few remaining pings around the first quartile value.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
- Parameter or Variable: PRESSURE - WATER [HYDROSTATIC PRESSURE] (measured); Units: decibar; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: pressure sensors; Sampling and Analyzing Method: Ocean bottom pressure. Pressure sensor housed inside inverted echo sounder on a rigid anchor stand. Hourly average of six measurements taken at 10 minute intervals. An exponential-linear curve was fitted to determine instrumental drift. The drift curve was subtracted from the measurements.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
- Parameter or Variable: TEMPERATURE - BOTTOM WATER [WATER TEMPERATURE] (measured); Units: degrees Celsius; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: pressure sensors; Sampling and Analyzing Method: Temperature quartz crystal integral to the pressure sensor inside the glass housing of an inverted echo sounder. Hourly average of six measurements taken at 10 minute intervals.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
- Parameter or Variable: CURRENT SPEED - EAST/WEST COMPONENT (U) (measured); Units: centimeters/second; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: Doppler current sensor; Sampling and Analyzing Method: Hourly average of six measurements taken at 10 minute intervals. Outliers due to instrumentation issues have been excised. Current sensor tethered 50 m above the seafloor with flotation. Corrected for magnetic declination and scaled for in situ soundspeed.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
- Parameter or Variable: CURRENT METER - NORTH-SOUTH COMPONENT (V) (measured); Units: centimeters/second; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: Doppler current sensor; Sampling and Analyzing Method: Hourly average of six measurements taken at 10 minute intervals. Outliers due to instrumentation issues have been excised. Current sensor tethered 50 m above the seafloor with flotation. Corrected for magnetic declination and scaled for in situ soundspeed.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
- Parameter or Variable: WATER TEMPERATURE (measured); Units: degrees Celsius; Observation Category: in situ; Sampling Instrument: Doppler current sensor; Sampling and Analyzing Method: Thermistor housed inside the metal Doppler current sensor. Current sensor tethered 50 m above the seafloor with flotation. Hourly average of six measurements taken at 10 minute intervals.; Data Quality Method: Highest quality version after the least amount of processing..
