abstract: The dataset consists of hydrodynamic results on water level, inundation depth, and flow direction and speed during an extratropical storm, whereby ice-rafts were emplaced on the marsh surface. This dataset is linked to another dataset where the sediment deposits are showed, followed by analysis of those deposits.
purpose: The simulations were conducted to confirm the processes that drove ice-rafts to get stranded on the marsh surface, resulting from an extratropical storm during the 4 Jan. 2018 extratropical storm. The results will be compared to typical annual accretion rates in order to determine the impact of both the Jan 2018 storm and the expected salt marsh response to future winter storms.
