        abstract:  This dataset contains a copy of University of Washington Department of Oceanography Technical Report No. 249, Physical, chemical, and productivity data from a survey of the Caribbean Sea and the northeastern tropical Pacific Ocean, RV Thomas G. Thompson Cruise 001: 14 October - 7 December 1965. The report contains tabulated physical and chemical data collected in 1965 during Cruise 001 of RV Thomas G. Thompson as part of Operation Catalyst and describes the methods of collection and analysis employed. Digital representation of these data are available in NCEI accession 6500000 and from the NODC World Ocean Database. Productivity and chlorophyll data collected in the northeastern tropical Pacific Ocean are included in the appendix.
        purpose:  This dataset is available to the public for a wide variety of uses including scientific research and analysis.
