Global change expedition : nutrient, chlorophyll-a and primary productivity data, NOAA Ship Mt. Mitchell, 1988-07-14 to 1988-09-06 (NCEI Accession 9000186)
Chlorophyll data from NOAA's Global Change Expedition in July-September 1988 was submitted by Dr. D.W. Frazel of RSMAS (University of Miami). The expedition was conducted aboard NOAA Ship Mt. Mitchell in four legs covering the North Atlantic. Parameters included in this data set are: salinity, temperature, chlorophyll a, total pigment and primary productivity. Chlorophyll-a and primary productivity data were collected from thirty-four stations. The NOAA data report ERL AOML-15 is included in the documentation.
Nutrient/pigment data associated with the July-September 1988 Global Change Expedition are filed under NCEI Accession #9000187; Reference # L01140. These data were "Processed" by OCL as of Jan 22, 1995.

Supplemental Information | The publication listed below is related to the data collection and is available from the NOAA Central Library: Global change expedition : nutrient, chlorophyll-A and primary productivity data, NOAA ship Mt. Mitchell, 14 July-6 September 1988. Miami, Fla. : U.S. Dept. of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Environmental Research Laboratories, Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory, [1989]. The NOAA Central Library catalogs publications associated with this accession. Call number: QC802.U6 A5 no.15 Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM). Principal Investigator (PI) and organization contact information accurately represents all available information from the legacy database at the time that this description was created. However, proper attribution of a PI to a specific institution or the role (submitting or collecting) taken by an institution may not be correct due to inexact mapping between fields in the legacy database and the CSDGM. Due to this uncertainty, the contact information was initially recorded in the Supplemental Information element of the CSDGM description. To develop more accurate metadata, NCEI reviews metadata for all accessions on an ongoing basis.
