The data in this accession is from the CD-Rom containing data from eastern Arctic collected as part of Global Ocean Data Archaeology and Rescue (GODAR) project between November 1977 and May 1989. The data was submitted by National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC), University of Colorado, Boulder CO. The CD Rom contained meteorology, sampling position, bathymetry, hydrography (CTD), bio-physical, sea ice acceleration, deformation and stress, and sample ambient noise and acoustics data.

Note: Metadata for this accession were extracted from a legacy database maintained by the U.S. National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC). The design of the database did not exactly reflect the FGDC Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM).

  • 2015-04-22T00:00:00 - NOAA created the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) by merging NOAA's National Climatic Data Center (NCDC), National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC), and National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC), including the National Coastal Data Development Center (NCDDC), per the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015, Public Law 113-235. NCEI launched publicly on April 22, 2015.
