browse graphicPaleoclimatology - Paleoceanography
This archived Paleoclimatology Study is available from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), under the World Data Service (WDS) for Paleoclimatology. The associated NCEI study type is Paleoceanography. The data include parameters of paleoceanography with a geographic location of Bermuda, North Atlantic Ocean. The time period coverage is from 12368 to 780 in calendar years before present (BP). See metadata information for parameter and study location details. Please cite this study when using the data.

Supplemental Information
STUDY NOTES: Foraminiferal Cd/Ca and stable isotope data from Bermuda Rise sediment cores, used to reconstruct Holocene changes in thermohaline circulation. Cd/Ca and stable isotopes measured on Nutallides umbonifera and Cibicidoides spp., primarily C. wuellerstorfi, and Uvigerina.
ABSTRACT SUPPLIED BY ORIGINATOR: Throughout the last glacial cycle, reorganizations of deep ocean water masses were coincident with rapid millennial-scale changes in climate. Climate changes have been less severe during the present interglacial, but evidence for concurrent deep ocean circulation change is ambiguous.
Purpose Records of past climate and ocean circulation derived from marine sediments. Parameter keywords describe what was measured in this dataset. Additional summary information can be found in the abstracts of papers listed in the dataset citations.
